music of john cage: Cage discovered that chance was as important of a force governing a musical composition as the artist's will, and allowed it to play a central role in all of his compositions. Although each piece has a basic, composed structure, the overall effect varied with each performance as different variables like the location and audience directly affected the sounds that were produced.

i want as many doorways as i can find into you.....play the music of shuburt and hear the yearning.  Can I lie my way into the truth of my thoughts.  work that is anchored in the figurative and representational yet washed by the emotional i squeeze every possible nuance of feeling out..a concern for the individual and their- no our placein the world. i explore those things we all muse about..birth, death, love, existance and meaning....age and wrinkles.
